| Graphics Lab Services: Facilities The Graphics Lab is located in 526 Wilson Hall (module map can be found here). The lab is designed to assist VVRC faculty with graphic design matters. The lab has a very generous office space and work stations for design mockups and design meetings. The VVRC Graphics Lab phone number is (615) 343-5070. Graphics Drop If you have large digital files that need to be printed or produced, they can be easily transferred to the Graphics Drop Box. The Graphics Drop Box is a place to drop larger image files for production. The Graphics Drop Box can be found on the Psychology server under Users 1. Please contact the VVRC graphic designer with instructions for the files and time frame needed. Poster Design Information on poster design and printing can be found here - VVRC Poster Webpage. Graphics Software Each faculty member and/or personnel in their lab will be responsible for the purchase of software programs they wish to use. The campus bookstore sells discounted programs, and they can order requested programs as well. ITS also has many programs site licensed for departmental use. For more information on Vanderbilt's site licensed programs & policies please visit this website: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/acis/license/. If you would like to try out a particular program before purchasing it, please call the graphics lab to see if we own the program. Supplies Art supplies, books, slide projector, etc. can be checked out and returned within one week. If you use any of these supplies: Phaser prints, transparencies, speciality papers, CD's, zip disks, floppy disks or slide film please be sure to record them on the Materials Charged List located in the Graphics Lab. Video Editing The graphics lab is equipped to do minor video editing. The lab has a TV/VCR unit that hooks into a Dazzle device. This device switches analog to digital and vise versa. Video or picture files are edited in iMovie, and then can be saved as QuickTime files, or be recorded onto video tape. Sound can be imported in from the video tape or cd's. If you have any questions about video editing please contact the VVRC graphic designer. Slides The VVRC Graphics Lab owns a Lasergraphics Personal LFR Pro digital slide maker. This slide maker produces slides with excellent quality and speed. Extra time does need to be considered for developing slide film. Film is developed by the Medical Center Arts Group or Chromatics. Both places have specific film pickup and drop off times, which may require extra time needed to process your job. If you design your slide files, Powerpoint is the best program to use for slide production. Graphics Lab Equipment:
